Guy Bourdin

Guy Louis Bourdin was a French fashion photographer & film maker and i have found him to be a massive massive influence!

Bourdin was originally a drawer, and made his first exhibition of drawings and paintings at Galerie, Rue de la Bourgogne, Paris. He then moved onto photography and made his first photographic exhibition in 1952.

His first fashion shots were published in the February issue of Vogue Paris in 1955. He continued to work for the magazine until 1987.

Bourdin made his name by been one of the best photographers of fashion and advertising in the 20th century. He created a taste for controversy and stylization. He wanted to Shatter expectations and question boundaries. This then lead Bourdin to work for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and shoot ad campaigns for Chanel, Gianni Versace, Loewe, Pentax and Bloomingdale's.

This guy has given me masses amount of ideas to create my short movie now. Just love the way he captures so much quirky, sadistic but yet beautiful footage. Below are a few examples of what i mean.
